Everything You Say About Me THAT’S WONDERFUL is True
“Everything You Say About Me THAT’S WONDERFUL is True” by Catherine Blewett Miller is an alphabetical series of poems from a dog’s perspective about positive personal qualities we all possess. A picture book for all ages, Miller was inspired to write it by her beloved therapy dog, Casey.
“Casey did not understand or respond to negativity,” said Blewett Miller. “As a therapy dog, his positive energy brought joy to hundreds of people. I’ve spent a lot of time in the hospital and thought it could be helpful to patients to be reminded of their strengths at a vulnerable time in their lives.”
Blewett Miller started writing the book 15 years ago but pushed it aside when an artist friend said it would be more work to do the illustrations than to write it.
“He made me feel like my ideas and words were worthless even though he hadn’t read my manuscript. I could’ve used the message of my book back then.”
The book, which the author describes as an A to Z prescription for happiness, was published by Orange Hat Publishing of Waukesha, WI on November 1, 2019. “It’s a children’s/everybody book because anyone can relate to its messages,” Blewett Miller said. Every page is filled with diverse dogs, people, places, and situations.
Wisconsin-based Illustrator Amy Kleinhans, a 2019 Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design (MIAD) graduate from Palmyra, WI, added her beautiful drawings to Miller’s text.
